Guest Program

 

Guests are invited to enjoy the refreshing mountain setting, world-class facilities, and recreation at the Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort during the CSG West Annual Meeting. All registered meeting attendees are welcome to attend all sessions (unless noted as ' invitation only') to share, explore, and learn.   Welfare Square/Humanitarian Center Tour

Transportation to and from Salt Lake City will be provided

 

One of the most frequently visited sites for dignitaries and tourists in Salt Lake City, Welfare Square facilitates humanitarian aid across the United States and in 180 other countries. After last year’s hurricanes, as an example, fifty semi-trucks, carrying 2 million pounds of food and non-food items were sent from this facility to people in the Houston area. Learn about the LDS Church’s local efforts to help individuals and families prepare for unforeseen circumstances, obtain short-term assistance, and help them become more self-reliant in employment, training, meeting household needs, etc.

 

The Utah Department of Workforce Services refugee office works regularly with Salt Lake City’s Catholic Community Services, the International Rescue Committee, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and The Refugee Immigrant Center-Asian Association of Utah to provide beds and bedding for the nearly 1,000 refugees annually seeking asylum in Utah. Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services is another of several charitable groups that have worked with Welfare Services and Deseret Manufacturing. In addition to providing bedding and some other household basics, refugees and immigrants are able to gain initial work experience at the facility as well.

  Salt Lake City Tour and Shopping Trip

Transportation to and from Salt Lake City will be provide. Busses will leave Salt Lake City to return to Snowbird at 1:00p.m. and 3:00p.m.

 

9:00a.m. LDS Family History Center Tour

Established in 1894, the Family History Library’s main purpose is to gather and preserve vital family records from throughout the world in an effort to help individuals connect with their ancestors. The facility grants access to the largest collection of genealogical records in the world.

 

11:30a.m. City Creek Shopping Center

 

2:00p.m. LDS Conference Center/Temple Square/Tabernacle Tour

Tour through 35 acres of Church property in the center of historic Salt Lake City.  Visitors will explore various sites within Temple Square to learn the history and culture of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This tour exposes guests to gorgeous gardens, breathtaking historic and modern architecture, and vivid artwork. 

 

Established over a century ago, the Tabernacle Choir is a 360-member chorus of men and women, all volunteers, which has performed at World’s Fairs and expositions, at inaugurations of U.S. presidents, in acclaimed concert halls from Australia and Europe to Asia and the Middle East. The unique organization transcends cultural and generational boundaries and brings together people from around the world through music.
