2012 Annual Meeting Announcement CSG-WEST 65th Annual Meeting July 20-23 in Alberta, Canada “Western Frontiers – On the Edge of Innovation” REGISTER NOW for the CSG-WEST 65th annual meeting to be held in Edmonton, Alberta July 20 -23, 2012. Meeting and hotel registration are available. CSG-WEST is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that brings Western state legislators together to share best policy practices, cooperate on regional issues and engage in professional development training. Several hundred people are expected to attend the annual meeting, drawing together elected officials from Western states and the Pacific region. The meeting theme is “Western Frontiers – On the Edge of Innovation”. Delegates will meet with legislators from across the West, attend policy and professional development sessions, and see firsthand Alberta’s innovative approaches to industry, education, transportation and research. Take advantage of professional development sessions as well as robust policy discussions on critical western issues such as energy, natural resources, water, health, fiscal affairs, western economic development and demographic trends in the western states. She previously served as chair-elect and vice chair of the organization, as well as a graduate of its Western Legislative Academy, among other roles.
Representative Berger’s experience, dedication and leadership with CSG-WEST will not only help maintain the organization’s continued success in serving Western state legislatures, but it will also propel innovative approaches that enhance the capacity and policy opportunities of Western lawmakers to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Ruiz has been selected as the new Executive Director of The Council of State Governments-WEST(CSG-WEST), a regional public, nonprofit and nonpartisan legislative organization serving the 13 western states. He will assume his duties on November 2, 2011. "Mr. Ruiz has been deeply involved in the initiatives, issues and programs of CSG-WEST during the 10 years he has been an employee of the organization, rising to the position of Deputy Director," said Representative Marcus R.
