CSG-WEST LSA/RD Committee

This committee is made up of leaders of the professional, nonpartisan staff of western state legislatures. Each year, these staff leaders gather for professional management training, and members maintain informal contact throughout the year. The goal of the committee is to develop and share practices that will result in the best possible customer service to lawmakers in a positive and professional workplace environment.

2006 Highlights: LSA/RD Committee members met in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for their annual fall training seminar. The University of Wyoming sent its top human resources trainer to work with participants on best practices for managing employees. Legislative staff directors also shared tips on special sessions, technology and other management issues. Oregon reviewed the work of its special citizens’ commission on the legislature, and staff members reported on 2006 sessions and projections for 2007.
