This forum is provided for state legislators in the ten states along the U.S. - Mexico border to develop a bi-national partnerships to address common challenges and opportunities. The program is administered by CSG-WEST and its regional partner in the south, The Southern Legislative Conference. The BLC serves as a mechanism for sustained dialog and collaboration among state legislators of the the border region. Its goal is to strengthen legislative institutions and empower state legislators to participate in the bi-national agenda and provide input in the development of public policy effecting the border region.
The BLC has produced, and will continue to develop a directory of state elected officials of the border region, and has convened bi-national meetings to establish strategic partnerships, exchange information and share best practices working towards common solutions to improve the quality of life throughout the border region.
